MEPSCO (Meat Equipment Parts and Service Company) was founded in January 1984 by David Michelfelder, Robert Benton and Gregory McMillion, with up to 15 years each in the meat processing industry. Just prior to this all three had been with a Dutch manufacturer of similar equipment, specializing in brine injectors for ham and bacon. When the foreign manufacturer closed the US operation, the three principals started MEPSCO based on common experience and industry contacts established over the years.
In 2004, MEPSCO was purchased by Cooling and Applied Technology (C.A.T.), which became part of the JBT family in 2016.
